National Entrepreneurship Challenge - E Cell, IIT Bombay

Details/Description:

To give wing to the entrepreneurial ambitions of students across different campuses, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) is organising a National Entrepreneurship Challenge, a first of its kind pan-India competition. The initiative, undertaken by The Entrepreneurship Cell of IIT Bombay, aims to help other campuses create an ecosystem for budding entrepreneurs. 

The challenge will ultimately direct participating colleges to establish their own E-Cells. 
It will include all the colleges spread across India.

Who Can Participate:

Anyone who is interested can apply whether you are a college student or not. Even foreign nationals can apply.

  •  If you are a college student, then you need to form a team of minimum 7 members. You can attract more people into joining this challenge and becoming a part of your team. And this team will officially represent their college in this competition.
 Note: Only one team from a college can participate. 
  • You can also participate individually. But you are strongly recommend to participate as a team. If you participate as an individual, you will be entitled to special prizes that will depend on your performance. You will not be entitled to the main prize though.

Events/Tasks:

The participating colleges will have to do a series of tasks (around 40 tasks) which are broadly divided into these categories: 

  • Awareness: Generating awareness about entrepreneurship, which will include tasks like session on basics of entrepreneurship, debate on job versus entrepreneurship, India versus silicon valley, surveys in college etc. 
  • The idea generation category will include tasks like identifying problems in your ecosystem, solving the problem, proposing a revenue model, conduct what an idea sirji (the idea generation event) B-plan.
  • Club Activities, this will include getting your entrepreneurship and business club registered, designing a logo, conducting speaker session, offline competitions etc. Stand up for society: environmental conservation, where students have to undertake tasks on conservation of resources, social issues, taking up a social cause and working for it.

Prizes:

Prizes worth Rs. 2.5 lakhs are at stake. The top 10 teams will also be invited in the Entrepreneurship summit to be held in February next year.
